According to new figures from the company, the Christmas tree industry is making about €12m in profits this year.
The figures were released by Walmart as it announced the figures for the year, which is also the first time that it has disclosed how much it spent on Christmas lights.
The retailer has already announced plans to add 100 new Christmas trees to its stores by 2020, and also plans to buy 100 new trees for its store in Madrid this year and to have 50,000 Christmas trees in the city by 2022.

That’s an increase of 6 per cent on the previous year and an increase from €2.9m in 2015.
